Roger Hargreaves was a writer and artist. He made books for children. He is famous for the Mr. Men series. He also made the Little Miss series. His books have bright and bold colors. They are very funny, too.

He started with a book called Mr. Tickle. His son, Adam, helped give him an idea. Adam asked what a tickle looked like. Roger drew a round orange man with long arms. This became Mr. Tickle. The books were a huge success. They sold one million copies in three years. Later, the stories became TV shows.

Roger wrote many other books. These include the Timbuctoo series. He also wrote about John Mouse. He made 46 Mr. Men books and 33 Little Miss books.

Many people around the world love his work. More than 85 million copies have been sold. These books are in 20 different languages. Even Google honored him. They showed his art on their main page. His son Adam now writes new stories for the characters. He uses his father's signature on the covers.
