Respiration (physiology)

life science Maturity 11-13 Next article →

Your body needs air to live. You breathe air in and out. This helps you get the air you breathe. It also takes away bad air. This keeps you strong and well.

When you breathe in, your chest moves. A muscle helps push air into your lungs. This is how you get good air. It moves into your blood.

The blood carries the air to your body. This helps your cells work. When you breathe out, you let bad air out. This happens in many ways. You can sing or laugh to change your breath. It is amazing how our bodies work!
