Religious discrimination is when people are treated unfairly. This happens because of their religious beliefs. It can happen in jobs or where people live. It can also happen through laws.

History shows many groups faced this. In the Roman Empire, Jews were forced to leave Jerusalem. Later, the empire also treated Christians unfairly. By the 5th century, things changed. Christianity became the main religion in Europe. This led to new unfairness for others.

In the Middle Ages, many Jews in Europe faced hard times. They were often forced to move or change their faith. Some had to live in special areas called ghettos.

In other parts of the world, rules were also strict. In the Ottoman Empire, some groups had fewer rights. In Russia, many Jews faced laws that limited their jobs. They also faced riots called pogroms.

Today, these issues still exist in some places. Some laws prevent certain people from leading a country. In some areas, people face trouble for their faith. Many people work hard to make things fair for everyone.
