Raihan

Raihan is a famous musical group from Malaysia. Their name comes from an Arabic word meaning "Fragrance of Heaven." They are known for singing nasheed, which is a type of Islamic music. The group became very popular after they released their first album. This album was called Puji-Pujian and came out in October 1996. It was a huge success in their home country. In fact, it was the fastest selling album in Malaysia. They sold over 750,000 copies there alone. Worldwide, they have sold more than 3,500,000 albums. This makes them the most successful music group in Malaysia for album sales.

The group started with five original members. These men were Nazrey Johani, Che Amran Idris, Abu Bakar Md Yatim, Amran Ibrahim, and Azhari Ahmad. Azhari Ahmad was the leader of the group. Sadly, Azhari Ahmad died of a heart attack in August 2001. This happened right after he attended an awards ceremony in Genting Highlands. Even after this loss, the remaining four members kept making music. Over the years, other members joined the group. Nordin Jaafar joined and then left in early 2007. Nazrey Johani also left the group at one point. Zulfadhli was part of the group until November 2015.

Raihan has traveled all over the world to perform. They have played music on six different continents. In 1997, they were invited to perform in Edinburgh. They performed at a meeting for the Commonwealth Heads of Government. They even received a special letter from Prince Charles for their work. In 1998, they met Queen Elizabeth II in Malaysia. This was during the Commonwealth Games in Kuala Lumpur. They also played at the famous Royal Albert Hall in London. They were the third Malaysian group to play there.

Their music has reached many different countries and cities. They have toured many places in France and the United Kingdom. They have performed in cities like Paris, Lyon, and Manchester. They have also played in Canada, Australia, and South Africa. In Indonesia, their albums have sold hundreds of thousands of copies. They have even performed in Russia, China, and the United States. By 2005, they had visited Indonesia more than ten times. They have also traveled to many cities in Thailand and the United Arab Emirates.

Many people consider Raihan to be very important in their culture. They have won many awards, like the Anugerah Industri Muzik. They won awards for Best New Group and Best Nasyid Album. They were even named Peace Ambassadors for Malaysia in 2006. They were also listed as some of the most influential Muslims in the world. Their music is used to inspire people to be better Muslims. They have released 11 or more albums over their long career. Their songs, like those on the album Syukur, have even been recorded with Yusuf Islam.
