The world is changing in a big way. This is called population ageing. It means the average age of people is going up.

This happens for two main reasons. First, people are living longer lives. Second, fewer babies are being born.

This change is happening in almost every country. It started in rich countries a long time ago. Now, it is happening in many other places too. The number of older people is at its highest ever. In the year 2000, there were 600 million people aged 60 or older. By 2006, that number grew to 700 million. Experts think 2.1 billion people will be seniors by 2050.

This change brings new tasks for leaders. Governments must think about health care and money for retired people. They also look at how to help cities stay friendly for seniors. Some people use new tools and robots to help with work. This helps as the number of young workers changes.
