Scientists study many different things. Some study plants. They look at how roots drink water. Others study animals or humans. They look at how our hearts and lungs work. Some experts study tiny cells. This is called cell physiology.

Living things must stay steady to stay healthy. This is called homeostasis. It is a way the body keeps its inside parts stable. For example, your body works to keep a steady state.

Physiology uses other sciences too. Anatomy is the study of how body parts are shaped. Biochemistry is the study of chemical changes in life. Biophysics looks at how living things react to light or sound. Even genetics helps. Genetics is the study of how traits are passed down. All these parts help us understand life. Claude Bernard was a famous scientist in this field.
