The weather in Pescara is shaped by the nearby mountains. These are the Maiella and the Gran Sasso chains. In the summer, the weather is usually sunny and stable. A sea breeze often keeps the heat from getting too high. Sometimes, a warm wind called a Foehn blows from the southwest. This wind can make the temperature rise very quickly. In the winter, the air is cool and can be misty.
