Between 1905 and 1911, Iran went through a big change. This was called the Persian Constitutional Revolution.

Before this, kings called Shahs held all the power. Many people were unhappy with the old ways. Foreign countries like Russia and Britain had a lot of influence. They controlled parts of the economy and trade.

This made life hard for local merchants and farmers.

In 1906, a leader named Mozaffar ad-Din Shah signed a new law. This law created a parliament called the Majlis.

The Majlis was a place where people could vote on laws and budgets. Different groups joined together to fight for this. They included merchants, religious scholars, and thinkers.

Things were not always easy. A new Shah tried to stop the parliament. He even used guns to attack it in 1908. But the people fought back. They forced the Shah to step down. Later, in 1911, Russian troops helped end the second parliament. Even though it was hard, this era changed Iran forever. It started a new way of thinking about law and power.
