Some come out every day. Others come out every month. Some even come out once every five years.

Periodicals cover many topics. Some talk about science or business. Others talk about fun things like films. Most have a title and a date. They also list the author.

An article might have a short summary too. Many periodicals have an editorial section. This is a part where people comment on topics. They might also have book reviews or ads.

People use volumes and issues to track them. A volume is often one year of work. An issue is one single release. For example, a magazine might be "volume 10, issue 4." This helps people find the right paper.

There are two main kinds of periodicals. Popular ones are magazines for everyone. Scholarly journals are for experts. These are often found in libraries. Some journals are for people in special jobs. We call these trade magazines. They help workers learn new things.
