You can read magazines on the Internet. These are called online magazines. Some people call them webzines. Others use the word ezine. An ezine is a small magazine. It might come to you by email. Some people also call them digital magazines.

Online magazines work in a special way. They have editors. An editor is a person who checks the work. They review what people send in. This helps make sure the stories are good. They want the readers to be happy.

Making these is much cheaper than paper magazines. You do not need paper or ink. You do not need to pay for postage. Some magazines are free to read. Other magazines need a subscription fee. This is a set fee to see special parts.

Magazines make money in many ways. They use ads on their websites. They might also sell products. Some magazines are for experts. We call these online journals. In 1995, a site called Salon.com started. It now has 5.8 million visitors every month.
