Things changed in Grenada in 1979. A new group took control of the country. This group was called the New Jewel Movement. They even arrested Paul at first. But they let him go. They wanted him to stay in his job. This helped the country stay stable. Paul and the new leaders worked together. They even played tennis.

In 1983, more trouble came. A new group took power. Paul asked the United States and other lands to help. He wanted to bring peace back to the island. In October 1983, soldiers arrived to help. They rescued Paul from his home. He helped the island pick new leaders. Paul stayed in his job until 1992. He wrote a book about his life. He died in 2013.
