Omeros is a very long poem.

A writer named Derek Walcott wrote it. He was from a place called Saint Lucia. The poem tells many stories about people on that island. Some characters are fishermen. Others are a maid and a retired officer.

The stories jump around in time. Some parts feel like old tales. One man even imagines a long trip across the sea.

Walcott used his own voice in the poem. He even painted the cover! It shows characters in a boat. People love this book very much.
