He was also a great electrical engineer. He changed how we use electricity and math today.

He was very good at solving hard math problems. He used a new way to solve differential equations. This is a type of math used to study change. He also rewrote Maxwell's equations. These are rules that describe how electric and magnetic fields work. He made the rules much simpler to use. He changed them into four equations that we still use today.

Heaviside also helped with the telegraph. A telegraph sends messages through wires. He found a way to make these messages clear. He showed how adding parts called inductors could help. This stopped signals from getting messy or lost. He even thought about the ionosphere. This is a layer in the sky. He said it could help radio signals travel around the Earth. Scientists later proved he was right.
