She competed alongside her two sisters, who were also national-level players. Success in squash requires extreme speed, precision, and mental strength. David demonstrated these qualities early by winning several junior titles. She mastered the technical aspects of the game to outplay opponents globally.

Her early career was marked by historic junior achievements. In 1999, she won the Women's World Junior Squash Championships in Antwerp, Belgium. At age 15, she became the youngest woman to win this title. She defeated three players ranked in the world top 20 during this run.

David turned professional in 2000 after joining the WISPA tour. She won her first WISPA title in February 2000 at the Savcor Finnish Open. She defeated Salma Shabana in the final with a dominant score. This victory happened only one month after she joined the professional tour.
