Nature is a famous weekly journal for science. It shares new research about biology, physics, and chemistry. It also covers the Earth and space. Scientists call it a multidisciplinary journal. This means it covers many different types of science at once. Being published in Nature is a very big deal. It gives scientists prestige, which means they get respect from others.

This respect can help them get money to do more work. It can also help them get attention from the news.

How does a paper get into Nature? First, research scientists write their findings down. These are often called research papers or articles. They are usually very technical and dense. Because of text limits, they are often summaries of much larger works. Then, the journal uses a peer-review process to check the work. This is a way to make sure the science is correct. It is a very hard job to get in. Fewer than 8% of the papers sent to Nature are actually accepted.

Nature has a long history that began in the autumn of 1869. Norman Lockyer and Alexander Macmillan started it. They wanted to create a place for people to talk about scientific ideas. Lockyer was a professor at Imperial College. Later, Sir Richard Gregory became the editor in 1919. He helped Nature connect with scientists all over the world. In the mid-20th century, the journal grew much more. It began to write more stories that explained science to everyone.
