Ministers lead many special events. They lead weddings, baptisms, and funerals. They also lead services of worship. Some ministers help by teaching people about their faith. They might lead prayer groups or study holy books.

Ministers also provide care for people. They visit those who are sick or elderly. They offer support during hard times, like when someone is ill. Some ministers work in schools or hospitals. These people are often called chaplains.

Different churches use different names for their leaders. Some use the word "pastor," which means "shepherd." Others use words like "priest" or "deacon."
