He was known for his unique way of making movies. He used striking visuals and modern buildings in his work. His films often show tiny people in big, empty lands. He used long takes, which means the camera stays on a scene for a long time. This helps the viewer look closely at the art.

As a child, Antonioni loved music and drawing. He played the violin and even gave a concert at age nine. He also liked to draw houses and streets. He said these childhood games felt like little films. Later, he studied film and became a master of style.

Antonioni won many big awards. He won the Palme d'Or for his film Blowup. He also won the Golden Bear and the Golden Lion. These are very important prizes for filmmakers. His films, like L'Avventura, helped change the way movies were made. People still study his work today. He died in Rome in 2007 at the age of 94.
