Lyakhovsky Islands

geography Maturity 11-13 Next article →

These islands sit in the cold Arctic sea. They are in eastern Russia. A man named Ivan Lyakhov found them. Two big islands lead the group. One is called Great Lyakhovsky. It has a very high peak. There is also a small island called Little Lyakhovsky. A large island named Stolbovoy sits near them. One small island has even gone away. The sea washed it away over time. You might see them in a book. They are very far away.
