He lived during the Ming dynasty. He is best known for writing a book called Romance of the Three Kingdoms. This is one of the four great books of Chinese literature. Many storytellers told parts of these stories first. Luo took those pieces and put them together. He also helped shape the book Water Margin into 100 chapters.

We do not know exactly where Luo was born. Some people think he was from Taiyuan. Others think he was from Dongping in Shandong. Some experts say there were two people with his name. One was an artist from Taiyuan. The other was a writer from Dongping.

His birth date is also a mystery. Some say he was born around 1280. Other records say he was born closer to 1330. New research suggests he may have been born between 1315 and 1318. Even with these questions, his work remains very important to history.
