A loudspeaker turns electrical signals into sound.

Most speakers use a dynamic driver. This is a part that moves to push air. Inside the driver, a wire coil sits near a magnet. When electricity flows through the coil, it moves back and forth. This coil is attached to a cone. As the cone moves, it creates sound waves.

Many speaker systems use more than one driver. This helps them play all types of sounds. Small drivers called tweeters make high sounds. Mid-range drivers handle middle sounds. Large drivers called woofers make low sounds.

A crossover network is a small part that helps. It sends the right signals to each driver.

Speakers often sit in a box called an enclosure. These boxes can be made of wood, metal, or plastic. The box helps the sound stay clear. Without it, sounds from the back might cancel sounds from the front. You can find speakers in many places. They are in TVs, computers, and even headphones.
