Wasserman found new ways to make movies. He used a method called film packaging. This meant an agent would group a writer, a director, and an actor together. Then, the agent would pitch this group to a studio. This helped the agencies do work that studios used to do. He also helped actors make more money. He helped actor James Stewart get a share of a film's profits.

In 1962, Wasserman bought Universal Studios. He led the company for nearly 30 years. He was very influential in the movie business. President Bill Clinton gave him the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 1995. He has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Wasserman died in 2002. His name is even on a building at Universal.
