Clive was a very strong person in her work. She fought for her rights against theatre managers. She even sang in the Irish language on a British stage. This was a big deal because that language was not allowed then. She also had many famous partners in her work. The writer Henry Fielding wrote many parts just for her. The composer Handel wrote special songs for her too.

Clive's work changed how people saw women on stage. She often played smart and funny characters. She even used humor to handle hard times in her own life. In the late 1740s, she began to make fun of herself on stage. This helped her win back the love of the public. Even though some of her music was lost, her name is still known. She remains a very important part of theatre history.
