Khanate of Kokand

history Maturity 11-13 Next article →

Long ago, a leader named Shahrukh Biy started a land called Kokand.

Many different people lived there. Some lived in cities. Others moved from place to place.

People worked hard to grow food. They built long paths for water to reach farms.

This helped more food grow for everyone.

Later, the land grew much larger. It became a very big place. A ruler named Alim even made new silver coins for trade.

But things became hard for the people. Wars happened and the land grew weak. Eventually, a large empire called Russia took over the land. Kokand was no longer its own place.
