In the 1950s, she led a big dig at an ancient city called Jericho. Her work showed that Jericho was a very old place. It was the oldest city where people lived without stopping.

She also studied old pottery. This helped experts understand how people lived long ago. Later, she became the leader of St Hugh's College at Oxford. People gave her many awards for her hard work. In 2003, a group in Jerusalem was named after her. They call it the Kenyon Institute. Her work changed how we study the past.
