This river is a holy place for many people. It is very important in Islam, Judaism, and Christianity.

Many different kinds of fish live in the water. Some fish, like the Jordan bream, live only in this river. But the river faces many problems today. People use much of the water for their own needs. This means much less water flows to the Dead Sea now. The river also has pollution from sewage. Some experts say the river is in danger. They say it could take many years to fix the ecosystem.
