Johnny did not just throw seeds randomly on the ground. He was a skilled worker who planted nurseries instead of simple orchards. First, he would plant the trees in a specific area. Then, he built fences to keep out wildlife and farm animals. He often left these nurseries in the care of neighbors. These neighbors would sell the trees and give Johnny a share. He would return every year or two to tend his trees. This careful way of working helped the trees grow well.
