John Creasey was a very busy writer from England. He wrote more than six hundred books. He wrote about mysteries, westerns, and romance. He was a very fast writer. He once said he could write a whole book inside a glass box!

To write so many books, he used twenty-eight different names. These names are called pseudonyms. He also made many famous characters. One was The Toff, a rich man who solved crimes. Another was Commander George Gideon. Many of his stories became TV shows or movies.

Creasey also cared about people and rules. He started a group for crime writers in the UK. He won a big prize called the Edgar Award. He also worked in politics. He wanted to help people work together.

His son, Richard, is also a writer. Richard even writes new books about Creasey's old characters. You can still find collections of his things at a gallery in Salisbury. His work stays important to readers today.
