He was an English writer and a painter. He also wrote many books about art. One of his most famous works is called Ways of Seeing. It was a book and a TV show. It helped people think about how they look at images.

Berger wrote many kinds of stories. Some were novels, which are long books. One novel, called G., won a big prize called the Booker Prize. He even wrote a book about a stray dog. He also wrote about how people live. He worked with a photographer to show the lives of farmers.

He was a man who cared about others. When he won his big prize, he gave much of the money away. He gave half to a group called the British Black Panthers. He used the rest to help study migrant workers. Berger lived in France for over fifty years. He died there in 2017 at age 90. His many books still help us see the world in new ways.
