Jiddu Krishnamurti was a famous speaker and writer.

A group called the Theosophical Society found him. They believed he would be a great teacher. They even formed a group called the Order of the Star in the East. They wanted to prepare the world for him.
But Krishnamurti chose a different path. In 1929, he left that group. He told people not to follow any leaders. He said truth is a pathless land. He did not want people to follow any rules or teachers. He even said people should not follow him. He wanted people to think for themselves. He taught a way called choiceless awareness. This was a special way of being aware. He spent his life traveling the world. He shared his ideas through many books and talks. He hoped to help all people change for the better.
Jiddu Krishnamurti was a famous Indian speaker and writer.

A group called the Theosophical Society changed his life. A man named Charles Webster Leadbeater met him in 1909. Leadbeater believed Krishnamurti was very special. He thought the boy would be a channel for a World Teacher. This teacher was an advanced spirit meant to guide humanity.
Life in the Society was very structured for him. He received private tutoring in many different subjects. He studied religion, yoga, and meditation. He also learned about British culture and hygiene. He traveled to places like England with his brother, Nitya. Even though he was a leader, he sometimes felt uncomfortable with the attention. He sometimes struggled with the strict rules and the heavy publicity.
In 1929, Krishnamurti made a very big decision. He left the Theosophical Society and disbanded the Order of the Star. He did not want to be a leader for anyone. He famously said that "truth is a pathless land." This meant he believed people should not follow any teacher or doctrine. He even told people not to follow him. He wanted people to find their own way through thinking for themselves.
He spent his later years traveling the world to share his ideas. He spoke about a way of being called "choiceless awareness." This was a type of meditation without using special techniques.

Jiddu Krishnamurti was a significant Indian spiritual figure, speaker, and writer.
Born in Madanapalle, India, Krishnamurti grew up in a Telugu-speaking Brahmin family.
In 1909, his life path changed when he met Charles Webster Leadbeater. Leadbeater was a member of the Theosophical Society who claimed to have clairvoyant abilities.
To prepare him, the Society established the Order of the Star in the East in 1911. Krishnamurti was named the head of this organization. His upbringing became highly structured and supervised by the Society. He received private tutoring in various academic subjects and religious lessons. He also practiced yoga, meditation, and instruction in British social customs. While he was successful in sports and learned several languages, he often struggled with formal academic schooling. He even attempted university several times but did not complete a degree.
By 1922, Krishnamurti began experiencing painful, seizure-like mystical episodes. These episodes caused a lasting change in how he perceived reality. This internal shift eventually led to a major break from the Theosophical movement. In 1929, he disbanded the Order of the Star in the East. He rejected the idea of being a messiah or a spiritual leader. He famously asserted that "truth is a pathless land." This meant he believed truth could not be reached through any organized doctrine, discipline, or guru. He even advised his listeners not to follow him as an authority.
In his later years, Krishnamurti focused on sharing his insights through "the teachings." He gained significant international recognition during the 1950s. This was aided by the writer Aldous Huxley, who introduced him to mainstream publishers. One of his most famous works, *The First and Last Freedom*, was published in 1954.
Krishnamurti's influence continues through various foundations in India, Britain, and the United States. These organizations oversee independent schools based on his specific educational philosophy. His extensive body of talks and writings is still distributed in many different languages.
