As a young girl, her voice was very special. A dancer heard her sing and helped her get training. Later, she had some trouble with her voice. A teacher named Manuel García helped her fix it. He taught her a healthy way to sing. This helped her become a great star in Europe.

In 1850, she went on a big tour in America. People were so excited that they called it "Lind mania." She made a lot of money from these shows. Instead of keeping it, she gave the money to charity. She used it to help build free schools in Sweden.

She also helped other musicians. After her friend Felix Mendelssohn died, she raised money for him. This money helped start a scholarship for music students. One student who got help was Arthur Sullivan. Lind lived a long life and loved to help others through her music.
