Flagg loved to draw from a young age. By age twelve, magazines used his art. He studied art in London and Paris. He is most famous for a poster. This poster was made in 1917. It showed Uncle Sam pointing at people. The text said, "I Want YOU for U.S. Army." Flagg used his own face for Uncle Sam. He did this to save time. A neighbor helped him with the pose. More than four million copies were printed. This poster was used again in World War II.
