Jaimini was a scholar from ancient India. He lived many centuries ago. Some say he lived around the 4th century BCE. He was the son of Parashara. He studied under a teacher named Vyasa. Jaimini also learned from Badarayana. Badarayana started the Vedanta school of thought.

Jaimini started a school called Mimamsa. This school is one of six major Indian schools. It focuses on dharma, which is religious duty. It also looks at rituals in the Vedas. These are very old sacred texts. His main book is the Purva Mimamsa Sutras. It has about 3,000 small rules called sutras. Some people say his school does not focus on gods. Instead, it focuses on how to do rituals correctly.

Jaimini also wrote a version of the Mahabharata. This story is called the Jaimini Bharata. It is different from other versions. It tells about peace and worshipping Krishna. One story says Jaimini learned from four birds. These birds saw a great war. They heard everything that happened. Jaimini spoke to them to clear his doubts. His work helped many other thinkers in India.
