The paper was cheap to buy. This helped many people read it. The government even bought copies for soldiers. After a famous writer named Marat died, Hébert's paper became the best seller in Paris. Hébert had very strong ideas. He often attacked the King and Queen. He thought the old ruling families should be removed. He wanted a new kind of France. Because of his radical ideas, he was later arrested. He was executed by the guillotine in 1794.
