Itō Noe was a brave writer in Japan. She lived a long time ago. She worked for a magazine for women. She wrote many stories in it.

She wanted women to have more freedom. She thought women should make their own choices. This made the leaders of her land angry.

Because of her ideas, the government stopped her magazine. They did not want people to read her words. This was very hard for her.

Later, she worked with a man named Sakae Ōsugi. They both shared many of the same ideas. They worked together to change things.

Sadly, she was killed by police during a time of great trouble. Many people felt very sad about her death. She is still remembered today.
