Creating a radio show involves many careful steps. Glass spent years working as a story editor and an interviewer. He learned how to cut tape to build a good story. He also learned how to move between small details and big ideas. This helped him structure his most famous program. For This American Life, he worked 70 to 80 hours every week. He even took two months off without pay to work on the pilot. He wanted to make sure the show was perfect before it started.
