A red giant star can make these clouds. This happens when the star is in its later life.

Clouds can be different types. Some are cold. Some are very hot. Scientists study them by looking at light. They use radio telescopes to find molecules.

Before this, people thought changes in space were very slow. Now we know they happen fast. This happens in the gas of the cloud.

Some clouds move very fast. We call these high-velocity clouds. They move faster than the Milky Way rotates. They may be left over from when the galaxy formed. They might even come from other galaxies.
