Many things can cause this feeling. One big reason is similarity. We often like people who share our goals or ideas. This is called the similarity attraction effect. People often look for others who act like them. This can make them feel good about themselves.

Physical looks also matter. Some people find certain faces pleasing. One idea is the good genes theory. This says we like faces that look healthy. For example, a face that is symmetrical might look more attractive. Symmetry means both sides of the face match well.

Being near someone can help too. If you see someone often, you might like them more. This is because you interact with them more. Other things like a nice voice can help too. People might even like someone more if they seem kind. These parts work together to build strong social bonds.
