Sometimes people use hints to speak. This is called an innuendo. An innuendo is an indirect remark. It usually suggests something mean or rude.

The words might sound innocent at first. But the person has a hidden meaning. They use these hints to insult or accuse. They do this without saying it directly. This can be a way to tease. It can also be a way to be mean.

Many funny shows use innuendo. Some shows use it to make adults laugh. This happens in cartoons for kids, too. For example, a show called Rocko's Modern Life used hints.

One hint was a fast food name. It was called Chokey Chicken. This made many adults laugh while watching. In the UK, people play a game called Innuendo Bingo. They listen to clips from the radio. They try not to laugh. If you spit out your water, you lose! It is a silly way to find hidden meanings.
