Her husband was a god named Dumuzid.

One of her most famous stories is about her trip to the underworld. The underworld is a place ruled by her sister, Ereshkigal. In the story, Inanna goes to this place and dies. Later, the god Enki helps her return to life. This myth helps explain how the seasons change each year. Inanna appears in more myths than any other Sumerian god.
