Many people believe it is the spear that pierced the side of Jesus. It is known by many names. Some call it the Spear of Destiny or the Spear of Longinus. This name comes from a soldier in the Bible. The Gospel of John tells a story about a Roman soldier. He stabbed Jesus to make sure he was dead.
