Bode worked at Bell Labs. He made special tools called Bode plots. These plots help engineers see how systems work. They show how a system responds to different speeds. This makes it easier to see if a system is stable. A stable system stays steady and does not go out of control.

During World War II, Bode helped make new tools. He worked on systems to track planes using radar. This used a wireless feedback loop. This is a way for a machine to get data without wires. The data helps the machine make its own choices. This work helped lead to modern robots and cell phones.

He also helped with the US space program. He worked for a group called NACA. This group later became NASA. Bode's ideas about how machines control themselves are still used today. His work helped start the Information Age. He was a pioneer in how we use technology.
