He wanted to use Islamic ideas to help society. He thought Islam could guide every part of life. He wanted a fair way to run a country. He even had ideas for how to use taxes to help the poor.

The group grew very fast. By 1940, it had 500,000 members in Egypt. The group built many things for people. They made schools, clinics, and businesses. They also had small groups called families.

Life was hard for Hassan. He did not like British rule in Egypt. He wanted his people to follow their own ways. In 1949, Hassan was killed by the secret police. His ideas still lead many people today.
