People can give gifts, money, or time. They can also share their talents to help others. This is often done without expecting anything back.

Many faiths teach about being generous. In Buddhism, it is a way to fight greed. In Islam, people give to please God. The Quran says God will replace what is given. In Christianity, the Bible says God loves a cheerful giver.
