They believe that God wants to save everyone. They also believe people have the choice to accept Him. This choice is called free will.

This group has two main roots in America. The first group started in North Carolina. Paul Palmer helped start a church there in 1727. This is often called the Palmer-line. The second group grew in the North. Benjamin Randall started this group in New Hampshire.

These two groups grew on their own for a long time. They did not join together until 1935. They met in Nashville, Tennessee, to become one big group. This group is the National Association of Free Will Baptists.

Free Will Baptists do special things in church. They practice baptism and the Lord's Supper. Some also practice foot washing. They believe the Bible is the true word of God. They also believe in giving money to help the church. They may choose not to work on Sundays.
