He wanted to make a special suit for pilots. This suit was meant to turn into a parachute. It would help them land safely from a plane.

He tested his ideas with dolls. He dropped the dolls from his building. The dolls landed safely at first. But his new wearable suit was different.

Franz wanted to test it at a very tall tower.

He went to the Eiffel Tower in Paris. He decided to jump himself to show it worked.

His friends tried to stop him. They were worried about the wind. But Franz believed in his invention. He jumped from the tower.

The suit did not open in time. Sadly, Franz died during his test. He was a man who tried to find new ways to stay safe.
