He studied how to help people with their minds. This job is called being a psychiatrist. He also wrote many books about fairness.

During World War II, Fanon was a soldier. He fought in many battles. He was even wounded by a piece of metal. He saw how people were treated poorly because of their skin color. This made him feel very sad and angry. He saw that racism was a big problem.

Fanon moved to Algeria to work as a doctor. He worked at a large hospital. He saw how war hurt people's minds. He joined a group that wanted Algeria to be free. He believed people should be part of their own communities to feel better.

He did not like to write by hand. Instead, he spoke his ideas out loud. His wife, Josie, wrote them down for him. His ideas helped many people fight for freedom. People in many countries still read his work today.
