Forecasting

math Maturity 11-13 Next article →

We can make smart guesses about the future. This is called forecasting. We look at what happened before. We also look at what is happening now. This helps us see what might happen next.

Some people use math to help them. This can help a shop know how many toys to buy. It can also help us guess the weather.

Forecasting is not the same as a plan. A plan says what we should do. A forecast says what might happen.

It is good to use new facts. This helps the guess be more right. We can even check our guess later to see how it went.
