This is a time with very little rain. The sun stays out for many days. Because it is so dry, some rivers may dry up. This makes it hard to find food. Many animals must walk to new spots to find water. Plants can also catch fire more easily. In some places, trees grow more leaves during this time. It is a very big change for the land.
