Sounds change as they move.

Dopplerfrequenz
Dopplerfrequenz

A siren moves toward you. It sounds high. Then it passes you. The sound becomes low.

This happens because the siren moves.

When it comes near, the sound waves bunch up. This makes the pitch go up. When it moves away, the waves spread out. This makes the pitch go down. It is a cool way to hear speed.
