A man named Dionysius lived a long time ago. He was a monk. He was born in a place called Scythia Minor.

Dionysius was very smart. He knew how to speak Greek and Latin. He also wrote about math. He spent much of his life in Rome.

He made a new way to number years. People call this AD. He wanted to stop using a name from a mean ruler. This helped people feel better about the future.

He also made a special table. This table helped churches find the date for Easter. This was a big job.

Many people still use his ideas today. It is neat to think about him!
